The Shadow Services for children with special needs is an extra support system for students attending mainstream schools. Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Disorders/ Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD), dyslexia , Global Developmental Disorder (GDD), and other learning challenges will be able to benefit from the shadow service.
The shadow teacher will encourage the student to interact with his/her peers and to participate in class/school activities. In addition, the student will be taught to cope with different social situations that may take place in the class/school environment. The service includes the planning of activities and routines that will allow the student to gain independence in the school environment as quickly as possible.
