Speech Language Therapy Services (Home/Centre)

Our experienced speech therapists are trained in these professional therapy methods:

  • Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson's Oral Motor Therapy (Talktools)
  • Hanen Program
  • Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPTS)

Our speech therapists provide pediatric speech-language and communicative therapy to children age ranging 18 months to 14 years olds:
  • Autism and related communication disorder
  • Speech delay or 'late talkers'
  • Delayed/ Disordered Language Development
  • Difficulty understanding/ expressing language 
  • Delayed/ Disordered Articulation of speech sounds/ Pronounciation difficulties
  • Speech Dysfluency (Stuttering)

Occupational Therapy Services (Home)

Protocol for OT Services

First session:
Home session and partial OT assessment
OT assessment involves interviewing parent and observing child in the home environment

Second session:
Continue with OT assessment
Setting up of workstation following the TEACCH administered
[e.g. Sensory Profile, Visual Motor Integration, Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (Law et al, 1998). Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System for Infants and Children (AEPS) - 2nd edition, pre-writing skills check lists, pre-scissors skills checklists, Functional Emotional Assessment Scale (FEAS)]

Subsequent session:
Continue with assessments
Parents' and/caregiver training (e.g. Therapressure Program; joints compression, sensory diet, Handwriting without Tears, TEACCH Structure)
Home programs (e.g. Samonas Sound Therapy Program)
Further follow-up

First and Second visits to be kept 1.5 hours.
Subsequent visits can be 1 hour or 1.5 hours depending on needs of child/parent.
